does a deemed university wit ugc recognition need aicte approval or not?
Q. im a student of scsvmv university located in kanchipuram , mah university is ugc recognised but not aicte ... is it safe to continue mah studies here or not?
Asked by Koundinya - Sun Oct 11 01:54:58 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The Supreme Court has ruled in the famous Bharathidasan University versus AICTE case that it is not obligatory for a university, created under an Act of a competent legislature, to seek and secure prior approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the university itself to conduct technical courses of its choice and selection. What it means is that the AICTE Act,1987 is applicable only to 'technical institutions' and universities are not ' technical institutions', excluding them from the purview of the AICTE Act. This is strictly from the legal point of view. I cannot comment on anything else.

hii what is the problem faced in doing post graduation in abroad if we do U G in deemed university?
Q. actually many say if we do our UG in deemed university it is difficult to study in abroad actually what is the difficulty or probelms
Asked by venkI. - Tue Jul 1 14:50:56 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you have completed the requirements of the field of your undergrad studies and you have obtained your Bachelor degree, you can do graduate studies at any university that recognizes your degree - you only need to choose thesis or non-thesis. If you decide to go on after obtaining your graduate degree (or Masters) and do post graduate studies to obtain your PhD. you will need to find an adviser in the field you want to study and develop a thesis to study and write about. This can and is often done overseas with a prof. that specializes in your particular field of study. PS. I have never heard of Dee Med University.

A. Depends on the way you learn. Most companies are going to higher you if you have the degree and do well in an interview. Someone who studied at a top University but has no social skills and doesn't do well in an interview will not necessarily get the job over someone who went to a college but has more to offer.

Q. What is the disadvantage of Studying in a Deemed University?
Asked by game of life - Mon Jul 27 10:58:53 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If the university is recognized by the university grants commission the degree from that university will be recognized abroad. The details come in what you wish to do with the degree. So, for example, if you wish to apply for graduate studies then the exact nature of your degree, and how well you did will be assessed. If you have a professional degree, say, engineering, you will have to meet local licensing qualifications. If it is not a deemed university, forget it, the degree is worthless.

Q. can I sit for MAT? after doing B>tech from a deemed university
Asked by ankit - Tue Jun 23 23:36:21 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. well it s not at all true. You can go for CAT, as well as you can also apply for government also. It doesn't matter from where which university u have done your grad, it just matter is your knowledge and skill level. If you able to solve real-world problems easily, then they doesn't ask from which university, you have done your grad. The only thing you have to checkout, whether your university is AICTE affiliated or not. If it not registered, then it'll be difficult for you to go for any govt. job or for CAT.

Regarding Degree certificates of Deemed Universities in Tamil Nadu ?
Q. If I join a college which is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and if during the second or third year, of my studies, if the same affiliated college becomes a deemed university, will I be awarded the degree in the name of Anna University, Chennai or in the name of the Deemed University. Please help
Asked by Nilesh - Tue May 12 01:50:23 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You shall be awarded degree of Anna University. The students who have admitted to the college after getting it a status of Deemed university shall be awarded degree of deemed university. Here I shall like to clarify, sometimes the private universities try to make fool of the people that even after getting themselves unrecognised continue to admit the children in next year and try to give fake degrees. You are requested to see this and check with the UGC web site. The recent case of ICFAI Tech, Hyderabad is the example of it.
